Their unofficial manager/agent and a London bookie Mazhar Majeed was also sentenced 2 years and 8 months in jail.
The Judge condemned the action of the trio and said:
Back home in Pakistan, a vast majority of cricket fans and ordinary people hailed court decison and condemned the cricketers for bringing disgrace to the country and sports of cricket. They also praised the judge for showing liniency towards hardly 19 years old bowler Muhammad Amir and awarding him six months into Young Offenders centre rather than sending him to jail.
