It may have come as a surprise to the Italian politicians, vying to join Mario Monti in the formation of new government in Italy, when Monti came up with his own type of government Wednesday- a politicians minus government. The newly formed government consists of bankers, diplomats and business executives.
Monti is quoted as saying that the absence of politicians in his Cabinet would spare political parties the "embarrassment" of taking the tough decisions needed to steer the country from financial disaster.
